What Are Expansion Anchor Bolts?
Expansion anchor bolts are available in metal and plastic materials. They consist of components such as bolts, washers, and expansion sleeves. One end of the bolt has threads, while the other end has a conical shape. The sleeve has several slits. The fastening of an expansion bolt is achieved by tightening the nut, which mechanically expands the sleeve, pressing it against the hole wall to form a self-locking mechanism, and ultimately anchoring the bolt in concrete, brick walls, or other solid, hard substrates.

Types of Expansion Anchor Bolts
Sleeve Anchor Bolt
High-performance sleeve anchor bolts consist of bolts, expansion sleeves, and nuts. During installation, tighten the nut to expand the sleeve, which provides excellent tensile performance. Suitable for concrete or masonry substrates.
Wedge Anchor Bolt
Concrete wedge anchors consist of bolts with wedge heads and metal sleeves. After being hammered into the drilled hole, the bolts are tightened to expand the wedge blocks and secure the sleeve in place.
Hit Anchor Bolt
Hit Anchor Bolt, or drive-in anchor bolt, insert the anchor bolt into the pre-drilled hole in concrete or brick, use a hammer to drive the nail into the metal impact anchor, and use the tail of the anchor bolt to expand and fix it.
Expansion Screw Hook
Hook Anchor Bolt has a hook-shaped structure at the top and an expansion principle similar to that of a sleeve-type anchor bolt. It is suitable for ceilings or situations where items need to be suspended, such as hanging pipes, lighting fixtures, etc.
Plastic Anchor Bolt
Plastic anchor bolts consist of plastic expansion tubes and screw kits, and are mainly used for lightweight substrates (such as gypsum board, walls, etc.). They are not suitable for high-load applications.
