DIN 7982 cross recess countersunk self-tapping sheet metal screws are fasteners used to cut threads in pre-drilled, untapped holes. Their thread-forming ability depends on the screw diameter and the thickness of the base material. They have coarse threads and drill points and are suitable for thin sheet metal, resin-bonded plywood, and composite materials. The countersunk design ensures that the screw head is flush with the surface of the base material, with a standard countersink angle of 80 degrees. Available drive types include cross-recess, Phillips, and hexagonal star.
51Fasteners offers a full range of metric and imperial self-tapping screws, with various material and surface treatment options. DIN 7982 cross-recess countersunk self-tapping metal plate screws are available in diameters from M2.2 to M6.3, lengths from 6.5 to 55 millimeters, and materials including galvanized carbon steel and stainless steel 304/316.
